A freight train struck and killed a man and a woman who were apparently trying to cross the tracks in front of the approaching train in Fresno. Police said it appeared that the couple tried to beat the train across the Santa Fe tracks. First reports indicated that the victims were joggers, but officers said the victims were dressed in street clothes. Investigators were unable to find any identification on either victim.
