The Preps : Basketball Playoff Roundup : Bagatourian Gets 34 Points to Lead Orange Lutheran

Senior center Pat Bagatourian scored 34 points to lead Orange Lutheran High School to a 98-68 victory over Riverside Notre Dame Friday in a Southern Section 2-A boys’ playoff game at Corona High School.

Senior guard Jason Neben added 28 points and junior forward Daryl Cole had 21 for Orange Lutheran (22-3). Neben had three three-pointers and Cole had two. Orange Lutheran led, 24-17, after one quarter and, 49-29, at the half.

Whittier Christian 80, Bell-Jeff 52--Paul McKinnley scored 27 points to lead the Heralds (20-6) in a quarterfinal game at Bell-Jeff. McKinnley scored eight points in the first quarter, as Whittier Christian led, 18-12. The Heralds led, 29-22, at halftime and 45-33 at the end of the third quarter. Scott Ferguson scored 18 points and Matt Riehm 13 for the Heralds. Nick Sanderson scored 12 points and Chris Dyer 10 for Bell-Jeff (20-5).
