Compton : Retired Faculty Members to Get Emeritus Status
- Share via
Retired faculty members from Compton Community College will now be able to enjoy “emeritus” status. The college’s board of trustees has voted to approve an emeritus plan that gives retirees the same privileges extended to retiring professors at University of California campuses.
With emeritus status, the Compton College retirees will enjoy such perks as library privileges, courtesy parking and complimentary or reduced-price admission to athletic and entertainment events. Emeritus faculty members also will be eligible to teach summer session or extension classes, will be listed in faculty directories and catalogues, can take part in graduation ceremonies and can serve as non-voting members of campus committees.
