Sears to Cut Prices Across the Board
From Associated Press
CHICAGO — Sears, Roebuck & Co. announced Thursday that it is ready to implement the cornerstone of its restructuring plans with a rollback of prices on more than 1.5 billion pieces of merchandise.
The nation’s largest retailer said it will close its 825 Sears stores for 42 hours next week--from 6 p.m. Monday until noon Wednesday--to change the prices marked on clothes, hardware, appliances, furniture and other items to conform with its new “everyday low price” strategy.
