Rockwell Paintings Returned: Thirteen Norman Rockwell paintings, tucked away in a Florida corporate office for 20 years, were returned to the steel company that commissioned them, thanks to an out-of-court settlement with its estranged chairman. The 23-by-30-inch paintings, commissioned by Sharon Steel Corp. and produced by the renowned artist in 1966, were recently returned to the steelmaker by the company’s now powerless chairman, Victor Posner. After taking control of the steelmaker in 1969, Posner moved to his corporate offices in Miami. Sharon Steel, which is operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, had to file suit against Posner last July after he first refused to return the paintings. Posner agreed to relinquish the paintings in an out-of-court settlement.
