A pipe bomb exploded over the weekend at a Sorrento Valley computer software company, authorities said.
The explosion was reported by employees of the Litton Co. at 7 a.m. Monday after they found a shattered window near the rear of the building upon arriving at work, a San Diego Fire Department spokesman said.
The department’s Explosive Device Team was called to the scene in the 5800 block of Oberlin Drive to see if the area was safe, the spokesman said. No other bombs were found.
Investigators said the motive for the bombing is unknown and the bomb probably went off Sunday night or early Monday morning.
No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $700, the spokesman said.
