Johnson Named Top Orange Empire Player
Kelli Johnson of Fullerton College has been selected the Orange Empire Conference’s most valuable player in a vote of the women’s basketball coaches.
Johnson, a 5-foot-11 sophomore forward from Katella High School, averaged 13 points and seven rebounds. She was joined on the all-conference team by teammates Debbie Wagner and Lisa Crosskey. Fullerton Coach Colleen Riley was named the coach of the year.
Kim Wilson, Dee Dee Stigar and Claudette Jackson of Golden West, Gina Shaw and Lourdes Padilla of Riverside, Suzanne Bakos of Orange Coast and Vanessa Early of Rancho Santiago also made the team.
