RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — A judge on Wednesday allowed R. Gene Simmons, who was convicted of killing 14 relatives and two other people in 1987, to waive his appeal and face possible execution March 16. Under a state Supreme Court ruling in an earlier Simmons case, the waiver granted by Circuit Court Judge John Patterson will be reviewed by the high court.
