SportScope : Loyola Nine to Take On Undefeated Long Beach Twice
Undefeated Cal State Long Beach (16-0) and Loyola Marymount (7-8) play baseball Friday at 2 p.m. at Loyola and Saturday at 1 p.m. at Long Beach. Cal State, headed by first-year Coach Dave Snow, formerly of Loyola, are off to the school’s best start in its history. Loyola has won five of its last seven games.
The Cal Dominguez Hills baseball team takes a 3-1 California Collegiate Athletic Assn. record into Friday afternoon’s 2:30 game with visiting Chapman College. The Toros visit the Orange campus of Chapman on Saturday at 1 p.m.
UCLA plays host to the annual Volleyball Classic on Saturday and Sunday at Pauley Pavilion. USC will play UC Santa Barbara at 5:30 Saturday. At 7:30 UCLA and Penn State meet. The winners play for the championship at 7:30 Sunday. The consolation match is at 5:30.
