Man Pleads Guilty to Molestation
The former music director of classical radio station KUSC-FM has pleaded guilty to molesting an 8-year-old girl while posing as a physician and pretending to examine her for an infection.
David Jay Letterman, 40, entering his guilty plea in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, was charged with one felony count of lewd conduct with a child under age 14.
Letterman, who remains free, was scheduled to be sentenced April 4.
Prosecutors said the molestation occurred after Letterman went to the victim’s house and, posing as a doctor, asked her mother for permission to examine the child for an infection.
A station spokesman said Letterman no longer works at KUSC. The spokesman was unsure whether Letterman was fired or had quit.
