PARIS — Le Crocodile restaurant in Strasbourg was promoted today to three-star status in the Michelin guide, giving owner-chef Emile Jung the ultimate accolade in French gastronomy.
His was the only restaurant to be raised this year to the highest level in the Michelin galaxy, which lists only 19 three-star restaurants in France.
Four two-star restaurants lost one or both stars this time: the Beau Rivage in Condrieu near Lyon went from two stars to one; the Chantecler at the Negresco Hotel in Nice dropped a star, the Cote d’Or at Nuits St. Georges in Burgundy lost both its stars and Point in Vienne disappeared from the guidebook.
Twelve famous Paris restaurants lost their sole stars, including Chez les Anges, La Flamberge and Olympe.
