The one-lane, 70-year-old tunnel between U.S. 101 and Ft. Cronkite in Marin County has been closed indefinitely after cracks as long as 30 feet were discovered in the ceiling. A spokesman for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which operates the one-way tunnel, said the cracks were believed to have been caused by age.
