IN BRIEF : Patriots Sign Kicker Greg Davis
From Times wire services
FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots today announced the signing of place kicker Greg Davis, who spent the last two NFL seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Davis, who signed a two-year contract, was the second unprotected free agent signed by the Patriots, who earlier came to terms with former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mike Jones. After beating out Mick Luckhurst for the Falcons’ kicking job last summer, Davis led the Falcons in scoring last season with 82 points, connecting on 19 of 30 field goals and 25 of 27 points after touchdowns.
