The median price of a home in the central part of Orange County hit $195,000 in February, up nearly 40% from a year ago.
That’s the word from the East Orange County Board of Realtors, which includes Santa Ana, Anaheim Hills, Tustin, Villa Park and Orange.
Home sales also rose in February over January, which is normal. What was unusual was that the increase was a strong 28%, or 390 houses and condominiums, the board said.
Based on the median price, only 27% of Orange County families could afford a home in the area in February.
