Industry News: Film and TV producer Edgar J. Scherick and Haim Saban, chairman of Saban Entertainment, have formed Saban/Scherick Productions to produce prime-time television programming. Their first project will be “Phantom of the Opera,” a four-hour miniseries for NBC. . . . “Dragnet” and “Adam-12” will return in new syndicated versions to be produced by the Arthur Co. and distributed by MCA TV. Casting is expected to be announced soon. Dum-de-dum-dum.
