A high-voltage power line failure caused a blackout at the Kentucky State Reformatory, forcing officials to put the state’s largest prison on lock-down status, authorities said.

No one was reported injured in the blackout Saturday. Power was later restored to most inmate dormitories, but appliances and equipment requiring 220-volt power still could not be used, authorities said.
