The mother of accused mass murderer Ramon Salcido wants custody of her 3-year-old granddaughter, Carmina, who survived a knife attack, allegedly by the Napa Valley winery worker, that left her two sisters dead. Associated Press reported that Valentina Bojorquez Armendariz, 48, said in a telephone interview from her home in Los Mochis, Mexico, that she loves her granddaughter and will accept her “with arms wide open.” A hearing on Carmina’s permanent custody is scheduled for Tuesday in Santa Rosa. Salcido is in custody in Sonoma County Jail, facing charges of killing seven people, including Carmina’s mother and two sisters.
