Julian C. Adderley; Father of Nat and ‘Cannonball’

Julian C. Adderley, 85, patriarch of one of the nation’s most influential musical families. Adderley was the father of jazz trumpeter Nat Adderley and saxophone great Julian (Cannonball) Adderley, who died in 1975. Adderley’s grandson, Nathaniel, is a musician who has worked with Aretha Franklin and Luther Vandross.
