Two Marines who were the only ones killed in a weekend helicopter collision over the northern Nevada desert died because they were seated in the rear of one of the aircraft, a Marine source said in Washington. The source said the rear of the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter crashed to the ground while the pilot managed to control the descent of the front portion. The victims were Cpl. Lisa Tutt, a reservist, and Sgt. Brenda L. Schroeder, a career Marine radio operator. Six others aboard the two helicopters were not seriously injured.
