FBI Names Suspect in Bank Robberies
The Orange County serial bank robber whom federal agents have nicknamed the Bald Eagle has been identified as Hector Rodrigo Soto of Yorba Linda, Orange County FBI agent Wylie B. (Bucky) Cox said Friday.
Cox said that Irvine police identified Soto as the suspect in a robbery a week ago after a witness spotted the license number of an automobile speeding from the scene.
A warrent has been issued for Soto’s arrest, Cox said.
FBI officials also received a tip on their bank-robbery hot line that Soto was the person in a photo accompanying a Times Orange County edition story about serial bank robbers.
