Albert F. (Al) Woodbury; Composer, Arranger for Films
Albert F. (Al) Woodbury, 79, a composer and arranger who orchestrated such film scores as “Porgy and Bess,” “Elmer Gantry,” “Bells Are Ringing,” “Bye Bye Birdie” and many more. A third-generation Californian whose grandparents founded Woodbury College, Woodbury was nominated for an Oscar for scoring “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?” in 1969 and a Grammy in 1976 for “The Disaster Movie Suite.” In Los Angeles on May 26 of cancer.
