NATION : Gregg Query Sparks GOP Boycott
WASHINGTON — Republicans boycotted a Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting today to show anger over a Democratic-led probe into the background and truthfulness of a close associate of President Bush.
Democrats said they may retaliate by holding up all of Bush’s nominations to fill key State Department and diplomatic posts.

The investigation’s focus is Gregg’s alleged links to the Iran-Contra scandal. The key questions: Did Gregg assist Oliver L. North’s secret mission to illegally resupply the Nicaraguan Contra rebels in 1985 and is he lying about it now?
