Death Has No Sting, Thanks to Passer-By
ROSEBURG, Ore. — A driver of a log truck who is highly allergic to bee stings probably owes his life to a passing motorist, authorities said.
Ray Gann, 33, was driving east on Oregon Highway 138 with a load of logs Monday when a bee bit him on the neck. He climbed out of his truck near Roseburg and collapsed at the roadside, holding an anti-shock kit in his hand.
Tim Fromdahl of Glide was driving by and stopped when he saw Gann collapse. Fromdahl saw the kit, read the instructions and gave Gann a shot.
“It probably saved his life,” said Lt. Jeff Johnson of the Douglas County Fire District.
