Airbus Has Orders for Stretched Jet: Airbus Industrie said it has received 18 firm orders valued at roughly $810 million for a stretched version of its A320 medium-range passenger jet. Jean Pierson, head of the European commercial aircraft consortium, told reporters at the Paris Air Show that orders include 12 planes for Beverly Hills-based International Lease Finance Corp. and six for Egyptair. Pierson said he was confident that Airbus will have the 40 firm orders it needs to proceed with the aircraft, but a decision is not expected until September.
