2 Teen-agers Held in Slaying of Girl, 15
A teen-age gang member and a 16-year-old female companion have been arrested in the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl who had just gotten out of the suspect’s car on a Mid-City street, Los Angeles police said.
Kim Cater, 15, was shot and killed about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday on Arlington Avenue, Detective Paul Mize said.
Cater and a girlfriend had just gotten out of a car at Arlington Avenue and 25th Street and had walked about a block and a half when the driver of the car pulled up, got out and fired at least three shots, Mize said.
Cater died at the scene. Her friend was not injured, he said. “We’re investigating this as a gang-related shooting,” Mize said.
Later Tuesday, police arrested and booked Olyric Robinson, 18, a known gang member, on suspicion of murder.
