Cerritos : Studebaker Road to Be Widened, Landscaped
Motorists who use Studebaker Road between Del Amo Boulevard and South Street in Cerritos are going to have to develop alternate routes for the next six months if they want to avoid construction on the thoroughfare.
The Cerritos City Council recently awarded a contract to Shawnan Corp. of Downey to widen Studebaker Road. Work is to begin this month. In addition to widening, the project includes installation of landscaped medians and curb access ramps for the handicapped.
The work will cost $1.3 million, but most of the bill will be picked up by the Federal Aid Urban program. The city will have to pay $162,720 of the construction cost.
