Santa Ana : Man Who Killed Over Spilled Beer Is Sought
Police on Friday were seeking a man who shot and killed a 34-year-old man in Santa Ana late Thursday evening because he accidently kicked over the gunman’s bottle of beer.
The victim, Eugene Robinson of Santa Ana, and an unidentified male companion had been walking east in the 900 block of West Pine Street about 10:20 p.m. when they came upon a group of men drinking beer, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Rick Hicks.
Hicks said Robinson accidently kicked over a bottle of beer, which sparked an argument that became violent,
“As Robinson tried to flee on foot he was shot once in the head,” he said.
Robinson was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police said that Robinson’s companion was robbed but left unharmed and that the group of men ran off before police arrived.
