N. Hollywood Youth Fatally Shot in Pacoima
A North Hollywood teen-ager died Tuesday after a possibly gang-related shooting at a Pacoima housing project, Los Angeles police reported.
The 17-year-old youth, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was found at 12:30 a.m. in the intersection of Carl Street and Carl Place in the San Fernando Gardens housing complex, Detective Al Ferrand said.
The victim, who had been shot in the upper body, was taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley, where he died a short time later. Ferrand said that police knew of no motive for the attack, but that the intersection where the youth was found is a hangout for Pacoima gang members.
He said that detectives were attempting to find witnesses to the shooting and that there were no suspects.
