MOVIES - June 27, 1989
The controversial film “Wired” has finally plugged into a firm distributor, according to CNN’s “Show Biz Today.” Encino-based Taurus Entertainment will release the film, based on Bob Woodward’s biography of the late actor-comedian Jim Belushi, on 1,000 screens nationwide on Aug. 25. “Wired” was going to be distributed by Atlantic but was put on hold because of the company’s financial troubles. A CNN source said an unnamed home video company is putting up $5 million for prints and advertising.
