A man believed to be a transient was stabbed to death in Long Beach during an argument with another street person at a fast-food restaurant, police said.

Mark Freeman Hobbs, 28, was attacked Thursday morning outside the Volcano Burgers restaurant at 745 E. Broadway, Lt. Columbus Lowe said. He died less than an hour later at St. Mary Medical Center.

The stabbing occurred after Hobbs and another man argued inside the restaurant, Lowe said. It was not known what the argument was about.
