The State : 2 Attorneys Join Regents
Gov. George Deukmejian appointed former Assemblyman William Bagley (R-San Rafael), a member of the state Transportation Commission, to the University of California Board of Regents. An attorney, Bagley, 61, served in the Legislature from 1960-74, representing Marin and Sonoma counties. He also was a member of the state Public Utilities Commission from 1983-86. Bagley replaces Meredith Khachigian of San Clemente, who was shifted to another position on the board. The governor also appointed San Jose attorney Steven Nakashima to the UC panel. A Republican, Nakashima, 67, replaces Robert Noyce of Los Altos, who resigned.
