A Richmond boy jumped to his death from a log flume ride at Great America amusement park in Santa Clara, witnesses said. Michael Dorsey, 9, who was with a church group from Oakland, got off a “Logger’s Run” boat as it approached a lift to the second flume, the witnesses said. The ride, which had no restraining device in its boats, was closed until investigation of the death is completed, park officials said. It was the second fatality at the amusement park since it opened 13 years ago.
