Injustice for All
A great injustice is being done to the Latin American countries, people, economy and, mostly, their tourism.
I have traveled to Europe and Latin America extensively. It is all a matter of common sense and good judgment for one to have a safe trip in any destination.
William Long’s article June 4, “Flurry of Crimes Has Many Tourists Calling Rio Anything but Marvelous,” really upset me. Safety is a major problem in any large city. I wonder why only Latin American countries get such negative publicity when I know that this kind of event takes place in many European and American cities as well.
Is there a political undertone due to the huge foreign debts? I think it is time to write about the various wonderful and exciting places of Latin America and let them benefit from tourism, which is a large source of revenue for them.
