Investor Sells AMI Stake: Dr. M. Lee Pearce, who mounted an unsuccessful bid to acquire American Medical International, has sold his 10.3% stake in the Beverly Hills-based hospital chain. Pearce sold 7 million shares of AMI stock for $26.37 per share. AMI has agreed to be acquired for $1.9 billion by a group headed by Chicago’s Pritzker family and the investment firm First Boston.
