Construction has begun near Tokyo on a $10.7-million research facility that will house biopesticide research and development to be conducted jointly by Mycogen Corp. and Kubota Ltd. of Japan.
Last month, San Diego-based Mycogen announced it was selling $10 million worth of its stock, or 1.1 million shares, to Kubota as part of an agreement giving Kubota rights to market its products in the Far East. In 1987, Kubota invested $6 million in research funds with Mycogen.
