Nu-Med Inc. named Stuart J. Marylander as president and chief operating officer of the Encino-based operator of hospitals and other health-care facilities.
Marylander, 56, succeeds Kenneth E. Rappoport, who remains vice chairman of Nu-Med and will become chairman of the finance committee of Nu-Med’s board of directors. Maurice Lewitt remains Nu-Med’s chairman and chief executive.
Marylander joined Nu-Med as vice chairman for hospital affairs in January after he was chief executive of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for 18 years.
