Control Data Corp.: The Minneapolis-based computer firm reported a second-quarter net loss of $497.3 million, contrasted with net earnings of $9.2 million a year ago. Revenue dipped 15% to $804.3 million. Pretax results included restructuring charges of $476 million, including provisions for several previously announced actions such as the discontinuance of supercomputer operations, the restructuring and downsizing of computer products’ operations and a reduction in corporate staff.
