A World War II-vintage B-17 bomber being used in a movie starring Matthew Modine and John Lithgow crashed near Binbrook, England, during filming Tuesday but all 10 people aboard survived. The Flying Fortress hit a tree while attempting to take off from an old air base in eastern England and broke apart in a field. None of the starring actors was aboard and the most serious injury was a broken leg. The plane was one of five being used in producer David Puttnam’s “The Memphis Belle,” about a B-17 that flew 25 wartime missions.
