STOCKHOLM — Katie Prudent Monahan won a show jumping event and Robert Dover won the Dressage Grand Prix Special today as Americans continued their domination of the Stockholm International Horse Show.
Prudent Monahan, riding Make my Day, was timed in 59.62 seconds around the Olympic Stadium course in beating runner-up Harvey Smith of England by nearly two seconds in an event that drew 43 riders from 11 countries.
Smith, aboard Brookstreet Shining Example, clocked 1:01.61. The top 11 finishers turned in faultless rides.
Prudent Monahan and Smith are expected to battle for top honors in the Grand Prix event Sunday.
