Robert Louis Biastre; Testified in Von Bulow Case
Robert Louis Biastre, 63, the former butler to Martha (Sunny) von Bulow who testified in the attempted murder trial of Claus von Bulow. Biastre worked for the Von Bulows from 1973 to 1988 and testified during Von Bulow’s first trial in 1982 that Mrs. Von Bulow was not a heavy drinker, discrediting the defense’s claim that she induced her own coma by drinking and taking drugs. Claus von Bulow was convicted of attempted murder in the first trial, but that conviction was overturned and he was acquitted at the retrial. In Newport, R.I., on Tuesday of an apparent heart attack.
