The top two officers at MCorp, once the second-largest Texas bank holding company, have resigned amid indications that the company’s other assets and subsidiaries may be sold. MCorp, which has headquarters in Dallas, went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy after regulators took away 20 of its 25 banks. Chairman Gene R. Bishop and President John T. Cater will hand over day-to-day responsibilities to new CEO Peter B. Bartholow, currently chief financial officer and group chairman for finance and planning. Bishop and Cater will continue to serve as directors and consultants.
