Assembly Speaker Brown’s Chartered Jet Proposal
Speaker Brown, “Blown away by the lines at the airport,” complains about the burdensome unreliability of commercial air travel.
His solution is to urge that California rent a private jet for lawmakers.
My solution is that our various representatives fly coach class, drive L.A. streets during rush hour gridlock, and ride public buses. Maybe then they would begin to understand what we contend with in our daily lives.
Unsatisfactory transportation systems need official attention and rectification, not the quick-fix solution of isolation via private jets.
