Faria Wins Speedway’s Scratch Main Event

Mike Faria from Riverside won the scratch main event Friday in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Alan Christian of Murrieta finished second, Costa Mesa ‘s Bobby Schwartz was third, and Scotty Brown of Chino fourth in front of 2,991 spectators.

In the handicap main, Phil Collins of Manchester, England, won his first handicap of the season. Shawn McConnell of Brea was second, Christian third and Faria fourth.
