Lusk Center to Sponsor Real Estate Conference

Leaders in real estate development will discuss the changing world of financing and real estate acquisition and management at the 1989 annual Real Estate Conference on Sept. 26 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

“Understanding Today’s Realities” is sponsored by USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate Development, with Carl E. Reichardt, chairman of the board of Wells Fargo Bank, as a key speaker. John D. O’Donnell of O’Donnell, Armstrong & Partners, is the conference chairman, and John D. Lusk, chairman of the Lusk Co., the honorary chairman.

Addressing the issues facing developers of today’s communities will be Philip J. Dion, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Del Webb Corp.; William D. Foote, president, Southwest Diversified; Ralph M. Lewis, chairman, Lewis Homes; Anthony R. Moiso, president, Santa Margarita Co.; Raymond A. Watt, chairman of the board, Watt Industries.

Speakers on unlocking real estate assets of corporate America, will include James J. Didion, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Coldwell Banker Commercial Group, and John M. Galvin, vice chairman, the Irvine Co.

Financing strategies will be addressed by Robert F. Adelizzi, president and chief executive officer, Home Federal Savings & Loan Assn.; John C. Cushman III, president and chief executive officer, Cushman Realty Corp.; Kenneth Leventhal, managing partner, and Stan Ross, co-managing partner, Kenneth Leventhal & Co.

California development and the national perspective will be discussed by Jeffrey M. Gault, executive vice president/director of real estate, Home Savings of America; Peter J. Hall, president, Great American Development Co.; William Lyon, chairman and chief executive officer, the William Lyon Co., and Melvin Simon, chairman of the board, Melvin Simon & Associates.

The $195 fee includes morning and afternoon sessions, lunch and reception following the DRE testing at 4:30 p.m. The all-day conference opens with registration at 7:30 a.m.
