Polish Premier Names Envoy to W. Germany

WARSAW — Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki has nominated a Catholic journalist as his envoy for sensitive talks on normalizing relations with West Germany, the Solidarity daily Gazeta Wyborcza said Tuesday.
Mieczyslaw Pszon, a commentator on Polish-German relations for the Krakow Catholic weekly newspaper, is the first non-Communist to assume a crucial role in Poland’s foreign policy since the Communists took power after World War II.
