Corona del Mar Hires Tennis Coach
Gary Salazar said Wednesday he has been hired to coach boys’ and girls’ tennis at Corona del Mar High School.
“I’m interested in gearing myself to coach on the college level,” Salazar said. “Obviously, this is one of the top programs around. It’s the closest thing there is to a college program in the area.”
Salazar replaces Dave Heffern, who resigned in August to become a private coach for Mike Briggs, a former Corona del Mar and UC Irvine player.
Salazar, who played tennis at the University of Northern Colorado, was coach at Edison last season.
