Two Bakker Aides Get 17-Year Prison Terms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two former aides to Jim Bakker were sentenced today to more than 17 years in jail and fined $500,000 each on tax evasion charges.
Brothers David and James Taggart received their sentences for using church credit cards to buy furs, jewels and a condominium at the Trump Tower in New York.
