U.S. Firm Buys Stake in Saatchi: An American investment company has acquired a 9.4% interest in Saatchi & Saatchi Co., one of the world’s largest advertising conglomerates. Southeastern Asset Management Inc. bought about 14.9 million shares of the British-based company, making it far and away the largest Saatchi holder. Although Southeastern executives say they are not interested in taking over the company, advertising industry analysts say Southeastern is expecting someone else to soon make a bid for Saatchi.
