Mission Viejo Coasts Past Long Beach Jordan

Mission Viejo, led by quarterback Don Disbro and tailback Mark Gaw, rolled to an easy 42-0 victory over Long Beach Jordan in the season opener for both teams Friday night before 1,800 at Mission Viejo High School.

The Diablos led the defending Moore League co-champions, 28-0, at halftime and then added 14 third-quarter points to coast to the win.

Disbro passed for two first-half touchdowns, scored a on a nine-yard run and kicked all six extra points. Gaw scored Mission Viejo’s first touchdown on a five-yard pass from Disbro, and ran 10 and 17 yards for two other scores. On the night, Disbro was 11 for 20 for 102 yards.

Also scoring for Mission Viejo were wide receiver Terry Kesner, on a 5-yard pass from Disbro, and fullback Ryan Darke, on a 2-yard run.
