Consider this contender for TV irony-of-the-month award. During a recent late-night broadcast of “King of Kings,” that fine and reverent telling of the life of Jesus, frequent commercial breaks featured smarmy plugs for adult-only phone “party” lines, including a “romantic encounters confession line”! Though it hardly seems kosher, I saw it on TV so it must be true. Can’t wait to thank my priest for this convenient new service.
